What Makes a Good Meta Title?
A meta title (or title tag) is one of the most important on-page SEO elements. Google displays it in search results as the blue clickable headline. A good meta title:
- Includes the primary keyword — ideally near the beginning
- Is 50–60 characters long — Google typically shows 50–60 characters before truncating
- Is compelling and click-worthy — it competes with every other result on the page
- Includes the brand name — typically at the end, separated by a pipe (|) or dash (—)
- Accurately describes the content — misleading titles hurt CTR and dwell time
Character Count Color Guide
The character counter next to each generated title uses a color system: Green (≤60) means you're in the ideal range; Yellow (61–70) is acceptable but may get truncated; Red (>70) means the title will almost certainly be cut off in search results.
